Ping Guo, one of Huawei’s three rotating chief executives, has indicated that the equipment maker is not considering the takeover of sizeable European competitors.
In an interview with German weekly Welt am Sonntag, he avoided replying directly to the question if Huawei could consider buying Nokia or Alcatel.
But he replied that Huawei has not yet planned any larger takeovers, “because we believe that we do not yet have the skills to integrate large targets”.
While it was easy to acquire businesses, subsequent integration could be difficult.
Asked if Huawei could consider an offer for Blackberry, he noted that the handset maker had found a buyer already.
