The Chinese vendor Huawei announced yesterday that it will create an Australian board of directors for its operations there.
This is the first time that Huawei has created such a localised board for its operations in a foreign country.
The director of government and public affairs at Huawei Australia, Jeremy Mitchell, said that the company’s Australian office was playing an increasingly important role in its international operations.
He said: “The decision to create an Australian Board of Directors means that Huawei’s local business is now being steered by Australian Directors for our Australian customers.”
