Israeli cableco Hot has named Zachi Ilan as its new CEO as Hertzel Ozer steps aside after five years in the post.
Ozer has been asked to help develop the business of its parent, Altice Group, which listed in Amsterdam last month. He will also remain as chairman of Hot.
Ilan, formerly head of Hot’s mobile business, is set to start in the role on 1 March.
Patrick Drahi, owner of Altice, commented: ” I asked Hertzel to also be involved in the business development of Altice, and I believe that in this important activity, he will also contribute his experience and his skills.”
Ilan only took over Hot’s mobile business early last year following the departure of Yaakov Nadvorani. That came just weeks after Hot’s then-chair, Stella Handler, announced her departure to rival operator Bezeq.
Hot operates cable television, fixed-line, mobile and broadband services.
