Spanish satellite operator Hispasat has appointed ISB to place launch plus one insurance for its forthcoming Hispasat 1E satellite. An insurance market briefing is due in early September.
Space Systems Loral was contracted to build the spacecraft back in 2008 and it will be based on SS/L’s LS-1300 platform.
The ?200m satellite is to be located at 30W and will carry 53 active Ku-band transponders covering the Europe, Northern Africa and the American continents.
The satellite is due to be launched by Arianespace at the end of 2010 although this could slip into early 2011 given the delays to Arianespace’s launch schedule earlier this year.
