Helios Towers Africa (HTA) has appointed Kash Pandya as its new CEO and director, with effect from 13 July. Co-founder and current CEO Chuck Green, will become executive chairman.
Pandya was most recently international managing director of power generation company Aggreko International, where he oversaw launches in over 10 African countries in four years. Prior to this, he ran Aggreko’s European division for three years. He was previously CEO at Johnston Group, a portal engine and content management systems company.
Welcoming Pandya, Green noted his experience in leading multi-country operations in emerging markets and managing complex power systems.
Thanking Green for his five years of service, Tope Lawani, co-founder of Helios Investment Partners, said: “He has successfully positioned the company for its continued future development, and will continue to have an important strategic role in our business going forward.”
With 5,000 towers under ownership and management, HTA currently operates in Ghana, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Republic of Congo.
Founded in 2009, HTA’s investors include Helios Investment Partners, Albright Capital Management, RIT Capital Partners, Quantum Strategic Partners and the International Finance Corporation.
