Chuck Green, the CEO of African towerco Helios Towers Africa, does not expect an IPO or a sale of the company in the short-to-medium term. The comments were made in an interview with TelecomFinance to be published in its next edition, due Thursday, 6 September.
While ruling out an exit of the current owners in the near future, he noted: “As with any company that is private equity-owned, a future liquidity event in the long term, in whatever form that might take, is a natural progression”.
Commenting on potential tower acquisitions, Green confirmed that the company has a shortlist of potential countries and assets. He also noted that Helios has access to capital combined with a strong balance sheet.
