French media and telecoms conglomerate Vivendi has named Herve Philippe as its new CFO, effective as of 1 January 2014.
He joins the company from advertising group Havas where he was also head of finance and managing director. Philippe will succeed Philippe Capron, who is leaving to work for utilities giant Veolia Environment.
Following the demerger of French operator SFR from Vivendi, expected to happen in mid 2014, Vincent Bollore will become the conglomerate’s new chairman.
Bollore –Vivendi’s largest shareholder – will replace Jean-Rene Fourtou, who previously announced plans to step down once the SFR spinoff is completed.
Bollore is also the majority shareholder and chairman of Havas.
