The Connectivity Business Summit 2022, taking place June 14-15 in New York City, will explore the critical strategic and financial issues impacting the global satellite and terrestrial connectivity infrastructure and services industry.

Meltzer has previously served as general counsel for the American Red Cross and for satellite operator Intelsat. Read his view on the satellite industry’s need to address space sustainability issues or risk having rules made by regulators who do not necessarily understand the industry.
GVF is the only global trade association for the satellite industry that represents the entire satellite ecosystem, Meltzer told Connectivity Business News. The trade association represents its members on regulatory matters in both global and national regulatory proceedings. Next year’s World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-23) will address global issues on important topics such as spectrum allocation, Meltzer said.
GVF also assists its members in educating staff via webinars such as those co-produced with Connectivity Business News and training in collaboration with SatProf and the trade association Space & Satellite Professionals International (SSPI).
“The extreme mobility of staff creates challenges in recruitment and retention,” Meltzer said.
