Telecoms trade association the GSMA has appointed its CTO Alex Sinclair as acting director general, a spokesperson told TelecomFinance.
“The GSMA Board is progressing well in its search to identify [a permanent] successor, but has not yet completed that process.”
As announced in March, current director general Anne Bouverot will leave on 31 July to become the chair and CEO of Morpho, a France-based provider of security and identity solutions.
It is understood that a decision had been expected following a board meeting last week.
The GSMA will announce the new director general in due course, the spokesperson said.
