Egypt-based Global Telecom Holding (GTH) has appointed Gerbrand Nijman as CFO, effective as of 1 July, the company announced.
He will replace current CFO Hassan Helmy, who is to step down on 30 June, to pursue opportunities outside the company.

Egypt-based Global Telecom Holding (GTH) has appointed Gerbrand Nijman as CFO, effective as of 1 July, the company announced.
He will replace current CFO Hassan Helmy, who is to step down on 30 June, to pursue opportunities outside the company.
Nijman moves from Vimpelcom, where he has been group director and head of investor relations.
A chartered accountant with over 16 years’ high-level experience in telecoms, he has also worked at KPN and Celtel, according to his LinkedIn profile. He holds an MBSc from the University of Amsterdam.
GTH, which is 51.9% owned by Vimpelcom, operates mobile networks in Djezzy in Algeria, Mobilink in Pakistan, and Banglalink in Bangladesh, and has an indirect equity ownership in the disputed Telecel Zimbabwe. The Egypt-listed company had 89 million customers as of 31 March.
