The German spectrum auction has now completed 200 rounds of bidding with the total offers now amounting to E3.53bn.
Germany’s four mobile operators, Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone, KPN and Telefonica, are slowly but surely increasing their bids for the spectrum, the most valuable of which is in the 800MHz band. For this, the operators have now bid on three of the six 10MHz blocks that are up for grabs.
The overall gain for the German government is still expected to be double what the telcos are currently offering.
