Five Vietnamese telcos received approval from the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) to test Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology, according to TeleGeography citing local reports.
Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications (VNPT), Viettel, FPT Telecom, CMC Telecom and Vietnam Multimedia Corporation (VTC) have 12 months to try the 4G technology. The companies will then likely participate in the 4G frequencies and licences auction, added Telegeography.
