Romanian telecoms regulator ANCOM has announced all five shortlisted candidates for the upcoming spectrum auction will be allowed to participate.
The regulator named the five operators as 2K Telecom, OTE and Romtelecom-owned Cosmote Romanian Telecommunications, France Telecom-owned Orange Romania, RCS & RDS and Vodafone Romania.
First-round bidding for spectrum in the 800MHz, 900MHz, 1800MHz and 2600MHz bands is set to begin on 10 September. Both short and long-term licences in the 2013-2029 timeframe are to be made available.
