Omantel is looking to acquire an additional stake of around 15% in Oman Fiber Optic Company.
In a statement the company said that it had secured approval from Oman’s Capital Market Authority to raise its stake in Oman Fiber Optic Company to 40%, up from its current 25.96%.
Oman Fiber Optic Company, which manufactures fiber cable products, lists other shareholders as Gulf Investment Corporation of Kuwait, Dr. Omar AI-Zawawi establishment, Oman & Emirates Investment Holding Company and the General Public.
The company is listed on the Muscat bourse.
