Lending banks are preparing to grab juicy mandates in the event of a successful tie-up between VimpelCom and Weather Investments, now that all the M&A roles have been assigned, TelecomFinance has learned.
TelecomFinance understands that Weather Investments is advised by EFG Hermes and Lazard, while Credit Suisse has an advisory role on the financing. VimpelCom is said to be advised by Deutsche Bank and UBS, while Telenor is working with Citigroup.
Egyptian businessman Naguib Sawiris is in talks to merge Weather Investments, his investment vehicle which owns Wind, and 50% plus one share in Orascom Telecom, into VimpelCom Ltd.
