UK mobile operator Everything Everywhere (EE) has dropped its threat to sue the British government over spectrum allocation plans, reported the Financial Times.
In August, EE formally objected to proposed legislation that would see regulator Ofcom auction 800MHz spectrum to ensure mobile operators have the capacity to cope with soaring demand.
The group, formed from the merger of UK mobile operators T-mobile and Orange, feared that without a cap on this auction, rivals Vodafone and O2 could acquire most of the bandwidth.
Although EE has decided to abandon its threat of legal action following intensive discussions with government, it is still pressing Ofcom to incorporate such a cap, the report adds.
The auction is set to take place in early 2012.
EE was unable to comment before the press deadline.
