Satellite sector analysis and consultancy firm Euroconsult has signed a MoU to merge with Washington-based satellite communications consultancy Irwin Communications.
The two parties have entered exclusive talks with the intention of Euroconsult acquiring Irwin and subsequently forming a new Washington-based subsidiary, Euroconsult US.
The companies are still working out the final details of the deal and it is expected to be completed by June or July 2010. No outside advisers have been used in the process.
Commenting on the deal, Pacôme Revillon, CEO of Euroconsult, said: “The creation of Euroconsult US is a new milestone in our development strategy, following the opening of our first North American office in Montreal two years ago. The office in Montreal allowed us to establish a foothold in North America, while this new US-based company will enable us to further improve service to our US customers by providing a local presence and larger consulting team.”
Having established Euroconsult North America back in July 2008, the newly formed subsidiary subsequently formed a strategic partnership with Irwin Communications at the end of the year.
Steve Bochinger, managing director of Euroconsult North America said: “Once Euroconsult decided to create an office in the United States, we considered a number of options, but our partnership with Susan Irwin has been a real success, and we have found that our complementary skills and areas of expertise have brought real value to customers. Susan is a natural choice to head up the new company.”
Susan Irwin added:` “Our collaboration over the last 18 months has shown that there is a need that our merged companies can fill. US Government and military applications and requirements are growing and changing; the media and entertainment sector continues to evolve and require creative satellite solutions, and the investment community has a strong appetite for the satellite industry. We have the capability to respond to these needs.”
