Saudi telco Etihad Atheeb Telecommunication has appointed Emad Ma’ali as its new CEO, effective from Saturday 13 October.
Ma’ali takes over from acting CEO Abdul Rahman Bin Abdul Aziz Mitrib who is also a board member, according to a statement by the company on the Saudi stock exchange. Former CEO Zaid bin Abdullah Shabanat resigned on 27 August.
Etihad Atheeb operates under the brand GO in Saudi Arabia and completed an IPO on 5 April 2009. It is part of the Altheeb Telecommunications Consortium, which includes Bahrain-listed operator Batelco.
GO has SR 1.575bn (US$ 420m) in capital and invested SR 520m (US$ 138.7m) in acquisition of its 3.5GHz frequency spectrum.
