The president of Colombian telco Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Bogota (ETB), Fernando Carrizosa, has resigned from his position.
ETB announced the news in a short filing with Colombia’s official financial watchdog, the SFC.
The current head of Bogota’s government, Clara Lopez, told local Caracol Radio news service that it had already started looking for a replacement for Carrizosa.
The resignation comes weeks after the decision by Bogota’s municipal government not to sell its 86.6% stake in the company to private investors.
Carrizosa had previously worked as a manager at Empresa de Energia de Bogota, in which the Bogota authorities hold a majority stake, and as the head of Empresa de Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Bogota, a public company focussing on aqueduct and sewerage services.
He has also worked on the boards of several public and private companies, including mobile operator Colombia Movil and the telco Colvatel.
