The Eastern Caribbean Telecommunications Authority has published a draft electronic communications bill.
The bill, which is open for public viewing and comments on Ectel’s website, is trying to update telecommunications legislation in the Ectel member states.
Ectel includes the East Caribbean nations of Dominica, Grenada, St Kitts & Nevis, Saint Lucia, and St Vincent & the Grenadines.
The intention is to promote “liberalized and non-discriminatory entry into the electronic communications sector” while enabling a “robust competitive environment in which there is fairness, transparency and accountability on the part of the regulators of the sector.”
