Israel’s ECI Telecom has named Darryl Edwards as its new president and CEO from 1 August.
Edwards has more than 30 years of international experience in the telecoms industry, according to a company announcement. Most recently, he was chairman of Luxembourg-based hub-based mobile provider, MACH, and telecoms adviser to private equity firm Warburg Pincus.
Previously, Edwards was CEO of London-based telecom network management consultancy, AIRCOM International, and, prior to that, worked for Canada-based telecoms equipment manufacturer Nortel Networks for 17 years, holding several executive positions. From 2001 to 2003, he was the CEO of Nortel Germany and guided the joint venture through a restructuring process. He was also the founding CEO and chairman of Nortel Networks Israel Joint Venture.
From 2004 to 2008, Edwards was a member of the Inward Investment Advisory Counsel to the Turkish government.
Founded in 1961, ECI Telecom is telecom network infrastructure provider with offices in more than 20 countries internationally.
