Telekomunikacja Polska (Orange Poland) has officially appointed Bruno Duthoit as its new CEO and management board president.
He replaces Maciej Witucki, who has been named chairman of the supervisory board after nearly seven years as CEO.
Orange Polska confirmed in late July that its majority shareholder, French telco Orange, would recommend Duthoit as its new leader. Duthoit served on the Polish mobile operator’s board before – from 2001 to 2006.
He began his career as an engineer for Orange in France (then France Telecom) and was soon promoted to the position of deputy regional director for network development in Lower Normandy, Orange Polska said in its statement today. Duthoit then spent six years in senior public administration roles before returning to Orange in 1991 as head of the group’s businesses in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Between 1996 and 2013, he has served as president and board member of several of Orange’s foreign units, including Orange Slovensko, Orange Moldova, Orange Armenia and, most recently, Ethioteleom in Ethiopia.
