UAE’s second largest telco Du has selected Finnish-German JV Nokia Siemens Networks to upgrade its mobile network operations.
The operator recently signed an agreement export credit facilities of US$462m (E330m) with German bank KfW IPEX-Bank and China’s Export-Import Bank
The project will cost AED400m (E77.9m) and NSN will expand Du’s 2G network and introduce HSPA+ services offering download speeds of up to 42Mbps. NSN will provide a comprehensive portfolio of telecoms equipment and services across radio, core, transmission, value added services (VAS) and operational support systems.
