Deutsche Telekom has appointed Citigroup as its corporate broker, becoming the first German company to employ a bank in such a capacity.
While most listed firms in the UK have a designated corporate broker, the role has not taken off overseas until now, although DT’s move could set a precedent for more appointments.
Citigroup will assist DT in investor relations, identifying potential new institutional shareholders and providing investor feedback.
Deutsche Telekom’s CFO Tim Hoettges said: “This appointment reflects Deutsche Telekom’s strong focus on shareholder communication and returns. We are pleased to be the first DAX company to formally appoint a Corporate Broker.”
