The owners of UK mobile joint venture EE, Deutsche Telekom and France Telecom, are not planning to give up control over the unit after its IPO.
In a call with analysts Deutsche Telekom CFO Timotheus Hoettges said that a float would take place in Q4 the earliest.
Deutsche Telekom and France Telecom needed time to prepare the move, he said. They also wanted to show the market that the brand is getting accepted, EE’s LTE proposition is selling well, and that margins will improve.
There was no time pressure and timing would also depend on the market environment.
Hoettges added that after the float “we both want to hold control of this entity”.
