Wireless operator Digicel has promoted Mark Linehan from CEO of its Jamaican business to regional CEO for the Eastern Caribbean South, covering Grenada, Saint Lucia and other islands.
Linehan replaces Barry O’Brien, who was interim CEO for the region. O’Brien will revert to his role as CEO of Digicel Barbados.
Meanwhile, Andy Thorburn is taking over the reins at Digicel Jamaica as its new CEO. Thorburn previously held senior management positions at BT Group and Siemens Business Services and has over 30 years experience in telecoms and IT.
Thorburn has started his new role and Linehan is working alongside him until end of the month before taking up his new role based in Saint Lucia on 1 October.
Linehan has been at Digicel for more than 10 years and held roles in the Eastern Caribbean, Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago, French Guiana, as well as Guyana where he was CEO.
Digicel, owned by Irish businessman Denis O’Brien, is incorporated in Bermuda but headquartered in Jamaica.
