Emerging markets investment firm Delta Partners Capital has closed the first investment round for its newly created TMT Growth Fund II that has a focus on emerging markets.
The first round has a size of US$100m while the overall target size is US$350m with a hard cap of US$500m.
Initial investors include Japanese telco NTT Docomo, and the IFC. Delta and its affiliates are also adding US$20m to the fund.
In a statement, the investment firm said the new fund will invest in “growth capital and selected buyout opportunities in the telecoms, media and related technology sectors across Africa, Central & Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and South-East Asia.”
