Cyprus has called for applications to take part in an auction for the nation’s third mobile network licence with access to the 900MHz, 1800MHz and 2100MHz bands.
The Ministry of Communications’ Department of Electronic Communications said in a statement that the deadline for applications is 24 July.
Specifically, the new licensee will have access to 2x10MHz in the 900MHz band, 2×24.8MHz in the 1800MHz band and 2x15MHz in the 2100MHz band.
Cyprus’ current mobile network operators are Cyta which, as a result of its partnership with UK-based Vodafone, operates under the brand name Cytamobile-Vodafone, and South Africa-based MTN’s local unit, both of which offer 3G and HSPA services.
