Cable & Wireless Communications (CWC) is searching for a new CFO after Tim Pennington decided to leave to take up the same role at another London company.
Pennington will step down from the board on 11 February but will remain available to the group until after its year-end preliminary financial results in early June.
He is credited with playing a key role in the 2010 demerger that split Cable Wireless into regional operator CWC and enterprise-facing telco CWW, with the latter later being snapped up by mobile giant Vodafone.
His departure comes as CWC’s senior management move to Miami to be nearer its Pan-American focus.
Phil Bentley, who was appointed CEO last month, said: “Tim has played a vital role in the successful transformation of CWC since our demerger in 2010. He has reshaped the group to its current focus on the Caribbean and Latin America.”
