The Croatian telecoms regulator has invited applications for licences for remaining LTE- suitable spectrum in the 1710-1785 MHz and 1805-1880 MHz bands.
Spectrum in these bands has already been partly allocated to Croatia’s three mobile network operators: Deutsche Telekom-controlled T-Hrvatski Telekom (T-HT), Telekom Austria’s Vip and the local unit of Sweden’s Tele2.
If demand for the spectrum exceeds the amount available, the regulator, Hakom, will launch another procedure to allocate it, such as a public auction.
Croatia auctioned 4G spectrum in October 2012, with T-HT and Vip, the country’s first and second largest mobile players respectively, winning frequencies.
