Canadian telecoms provider Craig Wireless Systems announced on Friday March 26 that its operating subsidiaries in Canada have entered into a definitive agreement for the sale of its Canadian spectrum assets to Inukshuk Wireless Partnership.
Inukshuk Wireless Partnership, a joint venture of affiliates of Rogers Communications and Bell Canada, will upon completion of certain conditions pay Craig C$80m (US$78m) for all of the company’s spectrum licences in the Canadian regions of Manitoba and British Columbia.
Craig Wireless stated that the Canadian licences it is selling off represent approximately a quarter of its total spectrum holdings. Following the sale, Craig holds spectrum in the US, Norway and Greece.
The deal still needs regulatory clearance.
