Rogelio Benitez, chairman of Paraguayan state-run telco Copaco has stepped down, local daily ABC Color reports.
According to the paper, Benitez, who headed the operator for nearly two years, was forced to resign amidst accusations of bribery and wrongdoing.
Copaco reportedly lost around 44% of its subscriber base during the 2012-2014 period, dropping from 395,000 subscribers at the end of 2012 to the current figure of 221,500.
A replacement for Benitez has not yet been announced.
