Telecom New Zealand has named Kieren Cooney as its new Director of Mobile.

Cooney, who is currently CEO of telecoms firm Leading Edge NZ, will begin the new role in June.

Cooney replaces current Director of Mobile Paul Hamburger.

Over the years, Cooney held senior roles at Vodafone, Touchpoint, eVentures and Tacit Group.

Alan Gourdie, Telecom Retail CEO, said that Cooney was a standout for the role given his close workings with Telecom’s mobile operations over recent years and his impressive local market experience. Cooney will be responsible for the commercial operations of Telecom’s mobile business.
