US ISP Consolidated Communications has promoted Bob Udell to the role of CEO, effective as of 1 January 2015.
Currently serving as COO, Udell will succeed current chairman and CEO Bob Currey, who will stay on as executive chairman.
Udell joined Consolidated in 1993 and has over 25 years of telecoms experience.
Commenting on Udell’s appointment, Currey said: “Since Udell was named COO in 2011, we have been methodically transitioning the CEO functions. He has demonstrated his ability to lead the company and will continue to drive value for our shareholders.”
In June, Consolidated acquired fibre network and data centre operator Enventis Corporation for US$350m in an all-stock transaction.
Consolidated operates an IP-based network which it uses to offer fixed-line telephony, broadband and digital TV, currently across 11 US states.
