US cableco Comcast has promoted Cathy Avgiris to CFO.
Outgoing CFO Dave Scott is retiring after 20 years with the Philadelphia-based company.
Avgiris currently leads Comcast’s ISP and voice businesses, which operate under the Xfinity brand. Last year she helped launch Comcast’s partnership with Verizon Wireless that was part of its AWS spectrum transaction.
She will begin in the role on 1 July and report to CEO Neil Smit.
“Cathy brings broad operational expertise, a strong financial background and a deep understanding of our company and our industry to her new role,” said Smit.
“She is an exceptional leader who has successfully managed some of Comcast’s largest and fastest-growing operations and I look forward to working with her as we continue to grow our business.”
