Swedish cableco Com Hem has recruited Anders Nilsson as its new head and has appointed Jon James as COO.
Nilsson joins from Millicom where he was executive vice-president of commerce and services. He replaces Tomas Franzen, who announced last November he would leave the company as of March to join Sweden’s media group Bonnier.
Prior to his spell at Millicom, Nilsson worked at Stockholm-based broadcaster Modern Times Group for 20 years.
Commenting on his appointment, he said: “I look forward to using my experience of the Swedish media sector to help Com Hem pursue its growth trajectory.”
New COO James is joining from Virgin Media where he led the broadband and TV businesses. He was previously group strategy director at the company and boasts 20 years of media and telecoms experience.
James is Com Hem’s second recent appointee with ties to Virgin. In December Andrew Barron was named executive chair. He left the British cableco after it was swallowed up by John Malone’s cable giant Liberty Global.
Com Hem, owned by private equity firm BC Partners, is reported to be in early discussions regarding an IPO. The company is yet to appoint advisers.
