Bajan telco TeleBarbados has been bought by telco Columbus, which operate across the Caribbean, after it acquired holding companies owned by Caribbean Fibre Holdings.
As part of the deal , Columbus is also acquiring Tele-St. Lucia and Wamco Technology.
Columbus said it planned to invest heavily in Barbados in the next two to three years.
“With our recently announced $225 million credit facility, Columbus is well positioned to make an immediate and significant direct investment in infrastructure in Barbados,” said Columbus CEO Brendan Paddick.
No financial details about the deal were released.
