Three Brazilian companies in which America Movil holds a stake will bundle their telecoms services.
In a statement Embratel, Net Servicos and Claro announced that they will jointly provide a new “Combo Multi” service of a wide range of services, including fixed, mobile, cable TV, and broadband.
An Embratel spokeswoman told TelecomFinance: “This is not a step towards unifying all of America Movil’s operations in Brazil.”
Embratel provides voice, broadband and pay TV services, while Claro is a mobile operator. Net Servicos provides cable TV and broadband services.
Embratel currently holds 35.8% of voting shares and 5.4% of non-voting shares in cable TV operator Net Servicos.
