Lu Xiangdong, an executive director and vice president of China Mobile, resigned from his positions on 15 March.
This is “due to his inability to perform his duties as an executive director and vice president under his personal circumstances”, the company stated.
Although no further details were provided, a previous announcement dated 2 March had said that Lu was assisting judicial authorities in the investigation of suspected finance-related issues.
Last year, two China Mobile executives were reportedly found guilty of corruption and were given suspended death sentences.
