SFR’s former CEO Stephane Roussel has now left his position as chairman of the wireless operator as well.
Jean-Yves Charlier, who replaced Roussel as the head of the French operator in May, took on the telco’s chairmanship as of yesterday (5 August).
In a statement Vivendi said Roussel has joined the group’s management team as senior executive vice president with responsibilities for human resources, similar to the role he had prior to taking over at SFR last summer.
He will supervise management changes within the group, developing the corporate culture and assisting in the group’s governance as it moves forward.
Roussel took the helm at SFR last August after Vivendi’s plan to appoint Vodafone’s then-head of Europe Michel Combes fell through.
Combes went to become CEO of Alcatel-Lucent earlier this year.
The French conglomerate is considering spinning off SFR into a separate entity in mid-2014, which would remove the operator’s debt from Vivendi’s balance sheet.
