Czech telecoms and ICT services provider and broadcaster Ceske Radiokomunikace (CRa) has promoted Martin Gebauer to the position of CEO.
Previously deputy CEO and CFO, Gebauer started his new role on 1 June. He replaced Michal Cupa, who has been offered new opportunities in the CEE region by CRa shareholders, according to a company statement.
Jiri Zrust, president of the CRa board, said he believes Gebauer is best qualified to lead the company as it implements “ambitious goals”, saying he completed a number of strategically-important initiatives during his time as deputy CEO and CFO.
Gebauer joined CRa in 2011 and was appointed deputy CEO in March 2013, adding to his CFO duties. He served as acting CEO prior to Cupa’s appointment.
CRa noted that the company has embarked on a new growth strategy under Cupa’s leadership and also undergone organisational changes.
CRa is 100% owned by Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA). It has a 39.23% stake in T-Mobile Czech Republic, which is majority owned by Deutsche Telekom.
