South African mobile operator Cell-C has named Mohammed Hariri as its new board chairman.
Hariri is also the chairman of Dubai-based Oger Telecom, Cell-C’s majority shareholder and vice chairman for finance and investment of Oger Telecom subsidiary Saudi Oger, where he has been a part of management for more than 30 years.
In addition, Hariri is chairman of Turk Telekom, in which Oger Telecom has a 55% stake, and serves on the boards of numerous other companies, within and outside the Saudi Oger group. These include financial institutions such as Arab Bank and Deutsche Bank PWM Middle East and Africa.
Hariri succeeds Simon Duffy, who stepped down after six years in the role.
