Carphone Warehouse is reportedly set to appoint former Orange UK head John Allwood to the board of phone and broadband business Talk Talk.
Carphone is due to demerge Talk Talk from its retail business in March and is looking to build a strong management team having already recruited former J Sainsbury executive Dido Harding to lead the company once it is established independently.
Allwood led Orange UK between 2000 and 2004.
