Bahamas based cable operator Cable Bahamas has announced plans to launch voice services by year end.

Cable Bahamas stated that it is to launch new converged voice services by the end of 2010, aiming to improve customer choices, service offering and its financial metrics, according to a company statement to the Bahamas Stock Exchange.

Currently, Bahamas Telephone Company (BTC) holds a monopoly on voice telephony services on the island.
