Bosnia and Herzegovina is to have its first satellite DTH platform, Team:Sat. The new broadcaster will launch on 1 September and will comprise seven television channels and two radio stations.
The venture is controlled by broadcasters TV Hayat, Radio Televizia BN, FACE and Al Jazeera Balkans. By joining forces into a single multiplex, the companies are hoping to broaden their reach across both Bosnia and Herzegovina and the expatriate communities across Europe.
The service is going to be broadcast via the Eutlesat-16A satellite, a Thales-built Ku- and Ka-band satellite that was launch last year with a focus over Central and Eastern Europe as well as the MENA region.
The broadcasters said in a joint statement: “This venture to broadcast in a new platform on Eutlesat-16A, the premier video neighbourhood in our target markets, optimises our resources and opens significant opportunities for audience expansion. It further strengthens our relationship with Eutelsat whose longstanding presence in our markets makes it a natural and preferred partner.”
