Bollore Telecom has acquired two regional WiMAX licences covering the Alsace and Burgundy regions from Altitude Telecom for an undisclosed amount.
With the acquisitions, Bollore has become the second operator to cover the whole French territory as Iliad was previously the only one with national coverage.
In 2008, Bollore Telecom bought eight WiMAX licences from HDRR, bringing its total number of WiMAX licences to 20, with Alsace and Bourgogne left as the only regions it did not cover.
Bollore Telecom is a joint venture between Bollore SA and Aeroports de Paris’ Hub Telecom.
