Bharti Airtel plans to invest about US$600m to expand its mobile network in Nigeria, according to media reports.
The company wants to invest in rural areas where telephony is scarce.
The Indian operator finalised the acquisition of the African assets of Zain last month for US$10.7bn. It is expected to introduce the Airtel brand in its newly-acquired units by October.
