Bezeq’s Avi Gabbay has announced plans to resign, after six years as CEO of the Israeli telco.
Gabbay will depart in approximately six months, in order to give the company time to find a replacement and ensure an “orderly transition,” according to a company announcement.
“After more than 14 years in the Bezeq Group and nearly six years as CEO of the company, I think the time has come for a change,” said Gabbay in the announcement.
Chairman Shaul Elovitch added: “Without a doubt, Avi is a manager with rare abilities. He has run Bezeq during an incomparably complex and challenging period with operational and financial performance unique in telecoms in Israel and around the world.
“Avi will be leaving behind him a company in superb condition, one that invests in its future for its customers and is driven by the strategic foresight of long-term leadership.”
This is the second senior management change at Bezeq in the past few months. As TelecomFinance reported in October, Dudu Mizrahi was promoted to CFO and deputy CEO when Alan Gelman resigned after five years in the roles.
