The head of Israel’s Bezeq International, Itzik Benbenisti, has resigned after seven years in the role.
Bezeq International is a subsidiary of incumbent Bezeq and provides internet and international telecoms services.
No further details were given, and the company could not be reached for comment before the press deadline.
According to a statement, Benbenisti was critical to expanding Bezeq International’s broadband internet operations and deploying the first Israeli submarine internet cable from Israel to Europe.
A few days ago, B Communications, Bezeq’s parent company, priced US$800m worth of notes at par.
Proceeds will be used to repay amounts outstanding under the loans secured to buy its 30% controlling stake in Bezeq for US$1.75bn in 2010.
