Telekom Slovenije has announced it has filed a request for launching bankruptcy proceedings against local triple-play operator T-2.
The telecoms incumbent said it aimed to recover at least part of the E12.6m T-2 owes it. T-2 has allegedly not fulfilled its obligations since 2008.
Telekom Slovenije added that according to public data, T-2 generated losses in 2008 and 2009 that exceeded half of the company’s capital stock, meaning it was insolvent.
T-2 was founded in 2004, with backing from investor Zvon Ena Holding. It offers broadband, fixed-line and digital TV service.
Nada Majdic, a spokesperson at T-2 said in an email: “We see the initiation of preliminary proceedings as a negative consequence of the competition protection office’s decision to officially initiate a proceeding against Telekom Slovenije regarding T-2’s motion (claiming abuse of dominant proceeding) filed recently. We will of course file an objection to the proposal for initiation of bankruptcy proceeding.”
